COURSE DESCRIPTION

Abrasive Wheels Awareness

Introductory abrasive wheels awareness training covering hazards, legislation and safe working practices.

    • Duration: Half day

    • Certification: CertCom

    • Refresher: Every 3 years

    • Assessment: Written or verbal

    • Location: Northern Ireland

    • Employees working near abrasive wheels

    • Labourers and general operatives

    • Supervisors and team leaders

    • Anyone requiring basic safety awareness

    • What abrasive wheels are and how they are used

    • Common hazards and accident causes

    • Legal responsibilities under PUWER

    • Safe systems of work

    • Importance of PPE and supervision

    • Minimum age 16

    • No prior experience required

  • Learners complete a short assessment to confirm understanding. A certificate of attendance/achievement is issued upon successful completion.
